      Undergraduate Virtual Events (Autumn/Winter 2020-21)

      Our series of live virtual events aim to provide you with the knowledge, confidence and skills to make informed choices about your future learning and career. Join us and gain an insight into life at Queen's, along with useful information and advice which will guide you through your journey to University.

We will help you set career goals, communicate your worth to employers and equip you with the skills you need to stand out in the competitive global job market. Tune in and hear from Trevor Johnston, Head of Careers, Employability and Skills on how we will help you build the skills that will benefit you throughout your career.

      A crucial part of your UCAS application, your personal statement demonstrates your aspirations, skills and experience to universities and admissions staff. Above all, it’s a means of articulating that you are passionate about the subject you wish to study. Join our event and find out how you can stand out from the crowd with your University application.

      Engineering Parents Evening

      Thursday 12 November, 6.30pm - 8.30pm

      Engineering Parents' Evening

      The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences would like to invite Year 11-14 students who are studying or considering studying A-Level Mathematics, Science/Technology and their parents to our online Parents' Evening.
      While we can’t have you on campus, we want to ensure that you still get access to our academics, students and employers to provide all of the information that enables students to pick engineering as their future career. There will be an opportunity to hear more and quiz our academics on the engineering disciplines offered by Queen's University Belfast.

      Parents information evening: Keeping you informed

      We appreciate that the transition to third level education can be a challenging and anxious time for students, teachers and parents alike. To keep parents informed of the journey which there son or daughter will take over the coming academic year, this session aims to provide parents with an opportunity to find out more about Applying through UCAS, Queen’s University and the range of support services available to students including Careers and Employability, Disability and Wellbeing and Study Abroad opportunities. Key information on Student Finance and Moving to Belfast will also be covered throughout the session.

      Thursday 19 November, 6.30pm

      Faculty Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Year 10-14 Parents/Guardians Evening

      Join us at our virtual event on Thursday 19 November.  

      The event commences with a short welcome and overview from Professor David Phinnemore. Following that, you may choose from a variety of drop in sessions where you can hear directly from our current students and academics on life at the University. You will also have the opportunity to get a feel for the University via our virtual campus and accommodation tours, and will be provided with information from our careers department, admissions, accommodation and disability services.

      Our course content videos will be available to you prior to the event which will allow you to preview these and prepare any questions you may have.

      Making decisions about your future is stressful: FACT. Dr Carolyn Blair, Research Fellow in SSESW, is on hand with practical advice about present-moment awareness. Don't know what that is? Tune in and learn how to increase happiness, improve your productivity, reduce negative self-criticism, overcome indecision, reduce stress and help you to enjoy the journey to third level education.
